  1. Hello, thanks for the question.
It is a mix of GW contrast Gryph-Hound orange and Liquitex Yellow Orange Azo Artist Ink sprayed through an airbrush over a black and white zenithal/sketch undercoat. I then washed the area with a Windsor and Newton oil paint Burnt and Raw Umber mix. Removed the excess paint with latex free make-up sponges and edge highlight of Abteilung 502 Naples Red high-density paint.
Hopefully that helps and good luck.

  2. I love this scheme and really want to replicate something similar for a 48 hour speed painting a whole Ad mech army challenge. Any advice on paints or technique would be appreciated. I’m thinking I airbrush everything with a bronze, maybe wash with a sepia, then some drybrushing with a light metal. Then do the cloaks by hand. Basecoat wraithbone, gryph-hound, orange oil, then the Abteilung 502 Naples Red highlight?

    1. Sounds like a great challenge! Your plan sounds good, but I would switch out Wraithbone for another Ivory / Off White color. Wraithbone doesn’t cover well for a base paint and can get frustrating. Try ProAcryl Ivory or Bright Ivory by Monument Hobbies. Ivory from Vallejo Model color would also work well too. Good luck!
