Lord of the Rings Fellowship of the Rings Diorama Plague signed by the Four Hobbits

Back in July, I was commissioned to build and paint a Lord of the Rings Fellowship of the Ring Diorama.

This would be attached to a plaque for signatures by the four Hobbits, Domique Monaghan (Merry), Eiljah Wood (Frodo), Billy Boyd (Pippin) and Sean Astin (Sam) for a recent convention.

The client was gracious to take pictures of their reactions and signing the piece.

To say I am ecstatic over the reactions is an understatement and I am still up on that cloud.

Lord of the Rings is one of my all-time favorite movies, if not the best!

Being able to work on something that brought such joy and appreciation is definitely one of the highlights of the year, if not my 10-year career.

I am so grateful and proud of this project and would like to give a huge “Thank You!” to the client for contacting me and sharing the pictures.

As a bonus.

My wife and I were able to see and hear Sean Astin talk at the St. Cloud State University last month as part of The Bennett D. Melin Family University Speaker Series.

It was a wonderful event and yes, Sean Astin said his famous Sam monologue from Lord of the Rings the Two Towers about

“That there is still hope in this world and it’s worth fighting for.”

We all cheered and wiped away tears at the same time.

A fantastic way to end the night.
